Overview of how the SketchUp Interface works
Basic
Concepts including understanding of the Axes
plus Co-Planer Surfaces & Inferences.
Zooming /Panning/ Orbiting the Model.
Pre-set Views - Plan – Elevation etc.
Creation of basic shapes using Lines/
Circles/ Arcs/ Polygon/ Freehand -Erase &
Hide Functions.
Creating Holes (openings) in Surfaces plus
use of the Move/ Copy/ Rotate/Scale + use of
Push-Pull Tools & how X-Ray Mode works.
Move+Copy+Array / Rotate+Copy+Array / Divide
+ Offset inc other Modify Tools such as
Follow-Me.
Construction Lines & measuring / Angular
Constructions and creation of angular
geometry – Use of the Protractor Tool.
Use
and creation of your own Components
(Symbols) plus alignment of same including
‘hole cutting’. Creation of Groups and
differences between Components & Groups.
Manipulation & Copying your Components
(Rotate /Scale /Align) as well as making
them Unique/ Exploding/ Re-building and
Modifying the same.
Inserting Components from existing SketchUp
Libraries as well as ‘from the Model’/
adding Components to your Own Libraries for
re-use.
Display Options X-ray – Wireframe – Hidden
Line - Shaded – Shaded with Textures. Using
the Material Browser - Adding Colours/
Rendering/ Outline inc ‘Hand-Drawn effects
as well as Shadow settings.
Using
the Material Editor to adjusting the Render/
finishes and modifying to create your own
custom colours/ shades. Rendering of
Components both Globally & Individually.
Shadow
Settings and Options inc Location and
Direction of Sun plus use of the Tourguide
to create Pages ready for your
Presentations.
Basic set-up of Options for SketchUp inc
